Flat Flexible Cable with PVC Sheathing

Flat Flexible Cable with PVC Sheathing

Application

These types of cables are commonly used as mobile cables in cranes, elevators, and conveyor systems. They are suitable for use in installations within buildings.

Advantages of Flat Cables Over Round Cables
•    Better thermal exchange with the outside due to a higher surface-to-volume ratio, resulting in less heating of the cable.
•    Greater flexibility and bending angle.
•    Distribution of tensile stress among the conductor, insulation, and sheath, resulting in higher mechanical strength.
•    Uniform bending force between strands.
•    More compact packaging.
•    For greater flexibility, the following blends can be used for insulation or sheath:
o    Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE)
o    Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR)

Structure

•    Conductor: Annealed copper, Group 5, flexible (according to IEC 60228 and ISIRI 3084)
•    Insulation: PVC blend of type D/PVC
•    Insulation Color Coding:
o    For up to 5 conductors: colored or numbered conductors.
o    For more than 5 conductors: numbered conductors.
o    For 7 or more conductors: the earth conductor is green and yellow, positioned as the last conductor in the outer layer.
•    Sheath: PVC blend of type 5ST/PVC, available in black or gray.
•    Stranding Arrangement: Conductors are arranged in parallel.
•    Temperature Range:
o    Mobile installation: -5°C to +70°C
o    Fixed installation: -30°C to +70°C
•    Voltage Ratings:
o    For conductors up to a cross-section of 1 mm²: 300/500 volts
o    For conductors with a cross-section greater than 1 mm²: 450/750 volts
